Reading and writing seem to go hand-in-hand, at least for me. Perhaps not everyone who loves to read wants also to write things worth reading, but I always have.

There are times that I’m intimidated. There are sentences so purely written that I know my writing  will never compare; there are others so poorly conceived that I shy away from writing for fear that what I put down on paper will be just as bad. Mostly, though, the more I read, the more I want to write.

In these pages, I’m going to be working through some writing exercises, and sharing some things that I’ve written. I’d love to have you join in, share your ideas or give me some feedback. Please be kind!

  1. I’m looking forward to these. I’m a timid writer and want to become less fearful. I also love the way Betsy Byars, great children’s writer, gets her ideas down. She just writes titles. Then fills in the ones that call her.
