Aim (April A ~ Z Challenge)

Standard

Having just yesterday decided to participate in the April A ~ Z Blogging Challenge, which involves posting a blog on 26 days of this month, I am still unclear about my intention. Some people post a poem each day, or write a story that continues through the month. Not that I need a specific plan. I can write, as I usually do, about whatever strikes my fancy. It makes it easier to write every day, though, if I have a direction.

I considered writing each day about art. I’ve been spending more time in the studio lately, and have several on-going projects. Still, after a long dry spell, I am treating my newly rediscovered inspiration very gently, for fear of sending it into hiding once again. For now, I don’t want to be committed to sharing and discussing my art.

The other option I considered was a list theme. Having worked my way through two books of prompts for list-writing, and concocted several of my own, I know I enjoy that format. Lists can be long or short, filled with expansive detail or simple and concise. That will allow me to talk about whatever I choose, as long as it follows the alphabet along. So, I’ll start off the month of April with a list of my aims:

  • I intend to post a blog every day of the month, except Sundays.
  • I place no requirements on myself as to the length of my posts, or the number of words I write.
  • I will choose my subject matter based on each day’s designated letter of the alphabet, and its ability to be formatted in a list.
  • Beyond that, I aim to talk about whatever I please, as usual.

That’s it! Those are my plans for the month of April. I hope you’ll all plan to follow along, to see where the alphabet leads me!
