Another Year, Fourth of July

Standard

Work, parade, work, a visit with a friend, gather up my grandson, visit with Aunt Katie, then home. We were in the process of bringing towels out to hang them on the line before taking the dogs to Fox Lake, when the telephone rang.

My daughter Kate – Tommy’s Mom – was on the island! She had taken the boat to surprise us today, and expected to find us still in town. When we weren’t, she made her way to Aunt Katie’s house, and called from there. What a treat!

We headed right out to gather her up, then all went out to dinner and to town to watch the fireworks over the harbor. It was a wonderful day…but I’m beat. This is it for tonight!
